Hello! I am Lindsey (she/her/hers) and very excited to meet your child as they start their healing journey! I am a large believer in a strong therapeutic relationship to support your growth and life change. It is important that you feel comfortable communicating with your therapist your concerns and needs as this a key component of the therapy and ultimately better mental health. Let’s face it, life can really stressful but you still deserve to enjoy your life.
Have you been concerned that your child or teen is showing signs of anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, or trauma? As a parent myself, I understand that you want what’s best for your child and you also want to make sure that they have the best mental health care available to them. It is important that your child feels safe and secure in therapy. After all, I’m a stranger when we first meet. I work collaboratively with parents and family, but also work to gain your child or teens trust so that they can feel comfortable sharing about their emotions. I am goal oriented and want to see your child make real change so that they can live a fulfilled life.
I work with issues of anxiety, depression, perinatal and postnatal concerns. I also work with ADHD and OCD. I truly believe that therapy is a collaborative process and our work together can bring about great change. I am direct, yet empathic, and really love to see my clients start healing and having decreased symptoms , better communication and better mental health.
Professionally, I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 19 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I have experiences working as a school social worker in therapeutic day schools, public elementary and junior high schools. I also have experiences working as a clinical counselor in the psychiatric hospital setting. I am certified in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and fluent in Mindfulness practices. I look forward to learning about you and helping you along your journey. I also specialize in parenting concerns and work with parents using the 123 magic approach by Dr. Phelan and Collaborative and Proactive Solutions by Dr. Ross Greene both modalities are evidenced based.
